48re Transmission

I read John Holmes' "Ranch Dressing" article in issue 41 of the TDR. I respect Mr. Holmes' opinions and comments about the 48RE transmission, but would like to know if anyone else has had problems with this unit. Also, what has been done to fix and improve it. Thanks for your input.
