Possably a new turbo trick

I shimmed my boost regulator by unbolting it from the turbo housing and sticking 2 washers on the bolts that hold the canister onto the turbo housing not allowing it to open the bypass as far, I am right now seeing around 27 psi in boost. It seems a little bit better that before I did this, maybe onto something here?
