Catalytic Converter - ??????????

By now we all know that the new 2004 will as Joe said "A diesel oxidation catalyst (catalytic converter) is employed." What's the straight skinny on Cat Conv with Diesels? Not wanting to be a bearer of bad news - but I don't think I like that idea - but I understand the reasoning.
