How Does the TST PMCR get EGT readings?

Does the TST PMCR need to use an existing EGT probe, or does it come with it's own? I'm wondering if it would make sense to get the gauge display option in-place of buying additional gauges. Is it accurate, or do you need a second gauge to check it against?
