I was on my way to visit my brother when the RPM appeared to increase but my forward motion did not. No warning, no noise and no fifth gear.
This truck (95 Ram 2500) has the updated fifth gear nut. It has pulled trailers that were heavy, BUT I never pulled any trailer in 5th after the updated nut was installed.
Never shifted into fifth until speed was above 50 MPH. So, DC fifth gear nut fix is a bust.
I would like some information on the repair/rebuild precess from someone who has installed the fully splined mainshaft themselves. I do have the factory repair manual.
