Borrowed Dad's Powerstroke Today

This may not be the right forum for this -- if it needs moved, please do so...

I borrowed my old man's 2002 2WD Club-Cab Shortbed Powerstroke today. I've driven the SuperDutty trucks before, but hadn't yet had the chance to back-to-back with my CTD.

Observations on the mechanicals:
* lots of clatter, way more than my PSD
* hardly any exhaust noise, even under hard acceleration
* minimal difference in power from my truck
* seriously stuffed engine compartment... wouldn't want to maintain that beast!
* sweet 6-speed tranny, with HARD gates... almost as stiff as a Ferrari chrome gate
.........Conclusion? I'll keep my First-Gen CTD! ... but I'd like one of those trannies.

Observations on the tin surrounding the PSD:
* way-y-y-y cool backseat and double suicide doors -- easy for ma to get in and get comfy, even with a bruised tailbone
* nicely supportive seats, but that wide center flipdown console is too wide for my not-so-girlish hips
* cut-away side windows provide nice sight-lines
.........Conclusion? I'll keep my First-Gen CTD! ... but I'll be working on the seats.
