One week with 2007.5 2500

Hi folks,

I have never posted in the past, but have been reading for some time. I bought a Mega Cab 2500, 4x4, 6.7 with auto from Dishman Dodge and specifically Adam M. I live in central PA.

Great experience with these folks. I could not have matched the deal in my small town in central PA... Adam stayed on top of every aspect of the purchase from order to delivery. It took about 1 month from order to delivery to receive my new truck.

I have owned two Chevy Duramax, two 6.0 Ford's and this is my second Cummins. My first Cummins had a 5.9 and 4 speed auto. It was never in the right gear so I traded for a 6.0. Not a good move!

The Cummins and Duramax are great powerplants, but the Cummins is smoother and stronger in my opinion and should last longer. Very, very quiet.

The Ford makes a good body, interior and transmission. The engines a dog. I test drove the new 6.4 and this thing is going to tank ford. Poor passing power, take the cab of to work on it, poor fuel economy. Major recalls already.

The Chevy is strong competition for the Dodge considering the combination of Duramax and Allison. The Chevy also has a nice interior in this year model, but I don't like the look. Chevy also has all the nice amenities.

The Dodge (made in Mexico) is a good truck (I would not have been comfortable taking a truck made in the Missouri plant). The 6.7 is smooth and the new tranny is very nice. They did cheap out this truck. From paint (orange peel) to interior amenities, to tires and rims. No auto lights, no climate control, cheap materials (this is with a Laramie package with all options). However the price is OK compared to the Chevy. OK it's cheap (not the engine and hopefully the tranny), but I can live with it.

The only issue I have had so far is it took a few attempts to start the truck one afternoon. Seemed like it was fuel starved, but cranked on the 4th attempt. Only happened once.

I would pay another $1-2k to have a nice paint job, and improved materials and features on the interior. I just don't understand why dodge does not offer these options in a higher end package. I guess only the accountants know.
