Next Project on The Gote'
Guys,
Next project up after the running boards is going to be removing the muffler. I may even remove the muffler before I finish the running boards LOL... I have a piece of 4" pipe from which I can make a short pup to replace the muffler with.
I know I have read that others have done this with no changes in how the motor ran, I don't care so much for anything like it being louder, I just would like to see better fuel mileage...
I did all the pipe work on my old 95' model Ford PSD I have and I made a little interesting rifling vein in it, much the same way I use to pipe fluids and hot gases in the oil field, when I worked at that as a contractor for pipeline construction and repair.
The deal with things in a piped system is they can have the volume increased if the substance you are moving in the pipe is given a direction, like a twisting or rifling. I look forward to see if I can make any improvements to the fuel numbers from behind the PDF...
The muffler even though its a small unit, does look to be one made with a baffle, so there should be some help with the flow by removing and putting in a rifling vein spool out pup.
