worst milage in the world!

im just about ready to take a beating and trade my 07.5 6.7 in for a leftover 5.9.
it gets 9.9 miles to the gallon hand calc. every tank no matter what, had all the flashes, check this check that blah blah....
would an h&s kit help enough to change my mind? im truly disgusted with this truck
