Give the truck back...I think?

Maybe it is just me, but I wanted to hear what my fellow Dodge fans had to say.

Today, when I took my step-son to school this morning the overhead said "catalyst full". It went from 80% to 100% just by turning the ignition off and on.

I called the dealer as I just also received the G30 notice, but I really didn't think I needed to rush as I have followed the recall here since it was announced.

The salesman told me that the dealership would clear the code, but I needed to drive the truck for 60 miles after they cleared the notice.

Now I don't know how others feel, but you know, this truck had a list price for over 52k. I bought the truck for it's dependability following. My previous truck was a GMC diesel, and never gave me a problem. I figure if this problem is going to be a constant error, catalyst full, and I needed to make a trip to the dealer each time, and then drive 60 miles costing about $20.00, then maybe the DC needs this truck more than I. I never would have purchased this truck if I knew I would be faced with this cost and trouble.

I guess I am curious how the others feel. I mean it is a lot of trouble and concern to worry about the truck leaving me somewhere, missing work, and spending extra fuel cost and time for this problem. Should I make D/C buy this truck back now rather than later so the adjustment cost won't be high? I have only owned this truck a couple of months, it has a little over 2000 miles.

What are your thoughts?

Steve
