What do you think about 08 6.7's?

I am on the edge of my seat trying to decide whether or not the bugs are out of the 6.7's. I was a nice guy and sold my kid an 07 5.9 which daily gets 18 mpg. I read all the horror stories about the 07-07.5 dpf issues and mileage problems, is it my imagination or does it seem that the 08's are showing a lot less problems? I think the majority of all complaints are an error code or two concerning the condition of the dpf. I know we can throw the entire exhaust system away and install a box or chip and find a quick solution but what is everyone's feelings about the progress by DC???
