Oil Change Required

Just a note about my first oil change on the 08 6.7 3500. My "Oil Change Required" "Contact Dealer" light in the EVIC came on at 2380 miles. In those first 2380 miles I have a mixture of highway trips, highway towing trips and city driving. Just seems like that is a little early for a oil change light to come on for a vehicle that is supposed to require oil changes every 7,500 miles or 6 months. I understand that driving style helps determine when this light comes on but to miss by 5120 miles doesn't seem right. Dealer said everything was okay, no recalls and no error lights were found. Comments?
