Dual Fuel Filter Assembly

I talked about this filter assembly we built and installed on all our trucks.... 5.9L Cummins, 6.7L Cummins, 7.3L Ford and 10L Cat. I was later asked to take a couple of photos of this filter and post it and I've finally learned how to do that..

We did this because of the problems that might come later with fuel issues and the new 08 5500 we bought...

The first photo is the assemble before installation....

The first stage is a 10 micron with water trap, and the second stage is a 2 micron... They are mounted on a billet aluminum housing we had CNC machined.

We opened the fuel line and installed a 3/8 hose to and from the assembly.

To date we have 35K miles on the Cat, 22K miles on the 6.7 and I don't have a clue on the (4) 5.9's

I was asked about fuel pressure in front and after... we measured it and these filters flow so much fuel that with 15K miles on one of the 5.9L engines a month ago there was not a difference in the measurement, but I'm guessing if the 2 micron filter ever becomes clogged there will be a difference...

I used Donaldson because we are friends with the dealer and he gave us a hell of a deal...

The second photo is of the filter installed on the frame rail and how it sits on a 05 3500 dually.....

BTW - a few days ago we tested the CAT for water and there was maybe a teaspoon that came out as we opened the trap...

Its our belief that we might not ever have to replace the factory filter... We've since had the 08 5500 in for warranty work and they said nothing about it mounted on the frame rail..

Some one teach me how to center the photo's....
