unplugging the egr and regan

So i've been reading about you guys unplugging the egr and getting better fuel milage. I unplugged mine this morning. put 200 miles on the truck ,and it went into regan. I have a pryo located about 2 inches after the dpf. During regan temps are around 1100 to 1200 degree's, today with the egr unplugged i got 600 to 850 and a 80% full see owners manual chime. is anyone else checking regan temps with the egr unplugged?
