Diesel Fuel Treatment, What we use
I was asked by several of you what we use.... Here are the 2 brands we've used over the past several years.....
We've bought the fuel additive twice. In 2007, we bought 2 1/2 gallons of Power Service Fuel Supplement, part # 1050-02 for $117.98.
In August 2008 we bought a case of 24 - 1 pint bottles from Schaeffer Oil for $127.68. Their part number is 0137-042.
5 gallons of treatment treats 7000 gallons of diesel.
If you break down the 5 gal to 7000 gal of diesel you'll find that it takes about 1 oz of chemical to treat 11 gals of diesel..... and if I've done the rest of the math right, its about 40 cents an ounce... so 40 cents treats 11 gal...
Both of these chemicals are approved for the 6.7 engine an each prevents gelling as well as an improver of Cetane...
