Turbo popping?

Hello all,
when i am constantly on and off the throttle in heavy traffic and the exhaust brake is on i notice a pop coming from turbo side of the engine. When I disengage the exhaust brake i don't notice it anymore. All the components in that general area of the engine seemed tight and i didn't hear or see any type of leaks. Is this normal or something i need to be concerned about?
