Question DIY DPF clean?

Suppose I'm out in the boonies, way up in the mountains and it's a long way to anything that looks like a road, much less a highway. (I can dream, can't I?). But suppose I start getting those messages on the overhead about the DPF being 80% full, then 90% full. If I have on board air, and some tools with me, is it possible to remove the DPF, and blow enough soot out of it by using an air gun? Or will this damage the DPF? I'm asking before I get there, because I don't think they have WIFI out there. Of course, I'd dispose of the soot in an environmentally responsible way according to all local codes.
Or maybe I should build a nice hot campfire, put the DPF in the middle of it and burn the soot out?
