Broken exhaust
I have a full 4" exhaust on my pickup and since I have a turbo mount exhaust brake it is only 3" out of the brake and then it goes to 4" so I guess you cant call it a true 4" but whatever. Anyways I have noticed that it was leaking right at the flare from 3" to 4" didn't think much of it. Then today I was headed to my mechanics to ask him about it. Just hit the freeway and the exhaust changed in sound. What the HE double hockey sticks. I get to the shop and pop the hood and it has totally separated. So all I have is about 4" of pipe off of the exhaust brake. So I asked the mechanic how much hooch he drank before he welded the pipe and he told me that it wasn't even his weld. It was a pipe from another company. He told me he hasn't seen one do that before. He was going to try to fix it, but I was headed into work early to do a little overtime shift and we wont be able to get it done until Tuesday. Bummer because it sounds horrible and I cant use the exhaust brake unless I want to use ear plugs. Oh well I guess I will have to drive it like and old grandpa until I can get it fixed.
