Ok here is what I have, a 1993 dodge dually, with a ford axle, and chevy brakes.

Now the chevy brakes have no emergency brakes, which I need to pass inspection. So I purchased the dodge e-brake cables, and drilled a hole in the backing plate.

The problem is the end that attaches to the e-brake lever, with the spring on it is way to long.

could use a picture of how this cable mounts to a dodge axle/backing plate and to and figure out whats wrong. I assume there is a mounting point welded on the backing plate.

If no photo, maybe someone could describe the connection. is it just a hole in the plate?
