Straight pipe is THE bomb...
I noticed that my cat was cracked a few months ago, so I went to an exhaust shop and had 5.5 feet of 3" exhaust tubing swaged and installed it this weekend. The pipe was about 2 inches long, but I had them swage fairly deep so I was able to make everything fit.
The results are impressive-- Exhaust temps are lower and the turbo cools down really fast after a drive. Acceleration seems a little faster and I also notice that boost pressure has been reduced.
The sound is nice-- Been driving with the windows down to hear it.
