Soybean Oil in Bulk

Why couldn't you but the 5 gallon containers of the Soybean oil for $12 ea. and pour directly into your 12 valve?

would this work, or does it also need to be filtered..because isn't this stuff at it's cleanest point anyway?Why use waste oil then filter it back to clean again>, i don't get it?Would this work on all Cummins motors?
