got my truck back things are running fine one small set back last oil i got have hydroge oil in it it plugs filters faster than you can put them in so had to dump a tank of fuel also no oil to work with so its back to #2 for now should be back to blending in a week or so.
now the lift pump is in the tank whats the best way to hook up a fuel gauge also should there be pre and post filter fuel line gauges ?

end of the week

hello all
Just got my tank cleaned out from my last fuel mix it had about 8 inches of sludge and muck in the bottom .Think I got some of that in my fuel last time.
also changed my bag filter it was time, thats a messy job and I am changing some of the plumbing to help better filter the oil after it heated and cooled.
Have not found any oil this week to process I did get 15 gallons on Wednesday at the pipe supply house where Ii buy my fittings, they deep fryed some turkeys for christmas for their customers and thought I could use the oil, peanut/canola mix lightly used (its almost new). a big thank you to Northwest Pipe Fittings in Billings
Thank you
have a great weekend

I am a little confused. Did you clean out the truck's fuel tank or the tank you blend the DSE in?

I have been running nothing but B20 in my two 12Vs since mid October. I have had no fuel filter problems so far. The trucks run great and although the coldest morning here so far has been 18 no problems starting or before warm up. Right now the 98 is down waiting for DTT parts, but the 95 is averaging 20+mpg this winter where it averaged only 18mpg on #2 last winter.
I did have a friend quit running it in his 04 D/A. That cold morning his truck started hesitating once he got on the I. We figured the cold was not allowing enough fuel to move through the filter.
I think we will wait to run any more through common rails till we get more info. The 06 op manuals still say limit it to 5%. That is probably good advice.

Hello all
Got oil this week and heating it as I type this, will be mixing sunday 1/22/06.

to tgrfan2
I would have your friend hook up a fuel pressure gauge and make sure his lift pump is ok thats the same thing mine did right before I lost a lift pump 04 are on the back of the fuel filter ( a pump pushes better than it pulls but some one thought that a good place for a lift pump is 8 inches above the tank and at least 6 feet away ) mines in the tank not the place I would put it , but they did not ask me.

Thanks for looking

His truck was an 04 GMC Duramax/Allison. It ran fine when the temperature warmed up and when he switched back to #2. Fuel delivery may be the only thing better about the Isuzu GM.

Hello
The truck is running fine no problems so far. Oil is made up of soy, peanut.canola running 50/50 with winter mix conoco brand fuel was running winter fuel 100% and did see some smoke at wide open but with this blend no smoke at all. Will be running this till the weather breaks and it stays hot then I will start burning at 100 % dse stlye fuel.
Did you see where dodge says it ok for 20% bio in the 2007 what's up with this
only 5 % in the 2006 give me a break I think it would be fine to run 100% bio fuel in all diesels if they can keep it from jelling, is this some thing the govt/oil/car mfgs think they can pull over our heads and we think it for our own good
here is some thing I found on the web it's a engine oil /jp8-diesel fuel blender from clarus technologies
www.clarustechnologies.com
has any one herd of this co and what do you think ?
have a nice weekend

hello all
the truck is running great no problems at 50/50 mix first tank 33 gallons is gone , mixing up another batch tonight.
went to a ag show last weekend talked to some people there about biofuel and blending of fuels found a few things that will make pumping used veg oil a easy task .
putting together a 12v pump that will pump in to a 125 gallon in truck tank then when I get home reverse the pump and pump into a storage tank no more 5 gallon buckets
this pump is not cheap but they make in my home town
will post pic when I get it done.

fuel wheels and tires

Hello All
DSE blend running fine in 04 keeping it down to 50/50 mix not sure of the weather will be going to 75/25 as soon as I can .
The 05 will start running 25% DSE fuel at the end of Feb or early March and will be missing the kat (Hey Marco whats the good word on the 3rd gn's )

Also any pic of dodges with 19.5/ 22.5/24.5 wheels on them and do you like the ride it gives. looking to change the gearing for better mileage/ looks and better tires 38000 and their almost wore out.
Thinking that fuel will be around 3.50 per gallon this year!!!! just want it to last as long as it can.
