My buddy is going to be trading in his 24er soon and will give me his pdr 40/14 if I put a stock 35 and 3 inch exhaust back on. I am currently running a Htt3 /14, and smoke allot from idle to 3200 RPM. I think that I have the fuel to run it + my torque converter is pretty loose so getting to higher rpm is not an issue. The truck is mostly used for hot rodding. I think I could benefit from lower drive pressure and higher boost / more air. I worry that I will not be able to spool it. Any Ideas ???????
91.5 2wd 3500. htt3/14, pod's, new ve w mods 3000 spring, new auto trans W mods, guages, nitrous, custom intake, straight exhaust.

I dont see any problems in spooling, and if he'll GIVE it to you in exchange for a stock HX35, I'd go for it. Now, I am not sure if you'll see any benefit/ gain from the swap (you'll still have to force the exhaust through a 14cm opening before it goes out into the exhaust stream), and you'll have to fab a downpipe, but that will have to be left to you.

I'm with Daniel. I don't really think you'll gain muchwith the swap. The larger 4" outlet will help a little though, if you have 4" exhaust the rest of the way.

If it's free, you can sell the HX40, and buy another HX35 and come out ahead. Depends on what kind of relationship you have with your buddy, if he'd be offended, etc.

That would offend me I can tell you that. I never have a problem helping people out by paying things forward, but not if their intent is to make a profit.

I tried a 40/14 turbo about 3 years ago. It was a decent setup but chargers have come along way since then.
