HP in Muncie

Haven't had time yet to get the numbers out and I'll try to finish that up today and post it.

Congrats to everyone that came out and put it down on the rollers.

East vs. West? I was hoping to see some competition but where was it? Matt laid down the 692.8 with a 1.01 SAE correction. At May Madness, Jim Fulmer laid down 748.2 with a 1.06 correction. That would be Jim's 703.30 uncorrected to Matt's 685.87 uncorrected. Pretty darn close especially considering Matt's truck only made one pass on the dyno after being built (677hp), Jeff made one conservative tweak, then on Satuday put down 692.8. There is more to come on this still very new built truck.

Opie laid down a very respectable 738 number with his 2500 on NOS. HE ran his truck on the dyno himself, made the number and said "good enough". Did you run at the track? Great job!!! You currently own my highest diesel engine dyno number.

Dennis Perry's truck did not dyno but my guess? Over 850hp on spray. He backed it up with a 11.11 @ 122 mph in a 7000+ pound truck.

Every day and track is different. Putting them all on the same track and dyno is what makes it fun. For those that think my dyno is not correct or that a DynoJet cannot read these diesels correctly? The guys that put the big numbers down, backed it up on the track. Those that didn't... well they didn't. And I'll give you a tip... if you cannot lay down power on a DynoJet, then you are masking a problem. Does this mean you cannot go to a load cell type dyno and put a number down. You may be able to. But if you cannot spool on this dyno, then streetability suffers BIG TIME. Take what this machine says and LEARN from it. Don't try to justify why the number was not what you expected. One of the Garmon's Racing trucks ran Friday at 500hp, it was down on power. Mark changed his fuel filter on the dyno and gained 21hp. He also found 1.5 mph on the strip too, which calculated out to 20.8hp.

From what I saw, we had Bentz's rail in the 8's, Jeff Garmon at 10.06, Darren Morrison at 11.08, Dennis Perry(Derik) at 11.11, and Matt Stuckey at 11.44. I think next was Micheal Tomac at 12.11 or so. Who else ran 12's? I know there were more.

I'll get on gathering the dyno numbers.... It was great seeing everyone, sorry I didn't have time to stop and chat... and boy does my knee hurt...
