First pull, need some help

I was thinking about entering my truck in the local fair truck pull. The way I have my truck setup should I just forget about it or should I give it a shot. I figured I should be able to place better than dead last as long as something doesn't break. How do I take off? Do I put it in drive, two, one? Four high or four low? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
