1 st time puller w/12 v. auto what gear??

anyone pulling w\ an auto out there , I could use some free advice
I'm running a 12 v auto 275 hp sun coast 1700 rpm stall TC , BD shift kit, BD pressure lock. 33" BFG all terr. 354 gear ratio.

Do I need a mystery switch for 2nd gear lock up? or can I just leave it in "drive" w\ the O\D lockout switch on?
If I use the 2nd gear mystery switch will the tranny shift into 3nd or stay in 2nd ?
what about the down shift at the end of pull??
