Pulling for the first time, help!

285/75/16 BFG AT, 3.54's, and I know I can tow 18k up a good pass on 4x4 but wil hit 1500 on 5x5 empty on a long drag race. Need advice on gear and comp selections, do I add weight? etc. etc. Also have a buddy with a 2wd 12V long bed that will be puling also, advice on him? Track will be groomed dirt, 6500plus class at sublimity harvest fest. Thanks guys!
