Unhappy Pulling Rules.....Give me your oppinions!!!!!

Alright, here is the scoup......I am building a GMC conversion truck with a 5.9...some might remember some of my posts in the past. Anyway, I also pull up here in Ontario, Canada in our Pro-Street Diesel class. Anyway, for two years that the class has beeing going conversion were fine and now all of a sudden it changed but the rules still make to sense and two of them contradict each other.

Here are the rules and the two that are in question are

#2(changed) Engines will be restricted to 6 or 8 cylinder compression ignition engines. All vehicles will be equipped with an O.E.M. engine available in a 1 ton or less from the factory. The use of compressed fuels will be prohibited. Dry ice or water introduced into the combustion chamber will be prohibited.

#21- No engine conversions, model to model or brand to brand.

Model to Model also means that I couldn't even have swapped a Duramax into my 1989 because it had a 6.2 in those years!

If you ask me this is very unfair and its making a pulling a very rich mans sport seeing in order to be competative I would need buy a $25K Duramax instead of building my own truck and spending half and getting the engine I want!

Is it worth the fight? most of the rules I have seen for pulls in the USA all say that as long as your engine is from a 1-ton or smaller you are OKAY and conversions are fine.

Please respond if you have an oppion and I will be bringing this up at our next meeting.

I have also posted all the rules under this post for you all to see.

Thanks in advance....RyanB
