First Drag Race!!!!

All right yall, I went to Edinburg TX Fridays night to race my truck. I was the only diesel powered ride there among all the trans ams ,5.0s, and other cars, i was pretty shocked that these people were so insulted to have me lined up in the back with them to wait for our turn in the quarter mile clash, i showed up to just see what it would do in the quarter thats it, well my diesel buddy that has been at the strip a time or two and has been in the sport for a while gave me a crash course and said if you break it i will get you and the truck home so show these guys whats up and make a fool outta them! well i lined up next to the trans am. i made a 15.34 pass at 98 mph with my reaction time of .988 it took me almost a second just to leave the lights i was so embarrased!!!. smoked the trans-am down the track still. yall should have seen this guys face!!!!priceless!!!. so a pro stock guy came over to me and asked to see my time slip, very good people him and his wife, they explained what i need to do on my reaction time and what bracket i need to write on the window. so i wrote 14.49 on the window, procedded to the staging area for the Quarter Mile Clash. I went up next to a tricked 5.0 mustang. i was like well hell if i make my bracket without brakin out ill be happy but what i really wanted to do was just smoke the guy down the track. the entire stands were on their feet when i pulled up and did my burnout yada yada yada. left the line at .239 as soon as i grabed 4th and 5th i didnt even see the car on my right, shifted it like there was no tommaro 14.42@98.23mph. the guy drove up next to me called me a @#$%-##$$(you fill in the blank) and told me i was #1. really it put a badd taste in my mouth but the pro stock guy said dont worry about it. it was amazing at the end of the night people came over and said way to go and good pass. was one of the best times ive ever had and was also funny to watch on video a 6800lbs truck rock a tricked 5.0. if yall have any tips to driving a standard 6 speed quicker please help this rookie out IM HOOKED!!!!!!!! jeremy
