suspension blocking questions

I am going to pull at our fair and I would like to be as competitive as possible. What is the best way to block the suspension? I made a set out of 4x2 channel iron to go between the bumpstops and the lift blocks in the rear, and I was wanting to know if the arms coming off of the blocks were strong enough to support the weight? Should they be bolted on or would the weight of the truck keep them in there? Also I have the skyjacker d25s in the front of my truck. Should I strap my front suspension down? Are there any other tricks to try. The pull was won by a duramax last year and I would like to beat him.
