Silver Bullet Upgrade

So the story goes I've been running a SPS 66 for two and a half years now, both in a Twin configuration and as a single. So like you when the Silver Bullets came out I was like hum.......!

Talked to Brady multiple times about them and were they were going, just 3 weeks ago I decided to do the upgrade, thinking that maybe it might be a little better, boy was I wrong.

The Silver Bullet is not just a little better than the SPS 66 but a totally different turbo! The very first thing I noticed was how dang quick it comes up on boost, there is less lag without a doubt and it comes up on boost about 150 RPM sooner. Today climbing a tiny hill it was at 13-15 lbs of boost at 800 degrees.

There are a few odd ball things I noticed like cruise EGT's being down a little, WOT is not too much of a change, couldn't really tell today (I did have to drive) with the run but there is no doubt it's stronger and is almost clean. It's really easy to get on top of, so far it has proven to me to be the way to go.

Having said that there are places for this turbo and there are places were it should not be! Saw a truck dyno at 374hp with one......this is not it's place, a SPS 62 needs to be there!

Now you ask were does it like to be on my truck with it's lower compression.....1700 and above, after 1900 it's instantanious and will make 40psi at 1/4 throttle.

Jim
