So I FINALLY got for the track today....

Drove 90 miles one way. Trans at 190, motor typical 200. pull in, shut down, unload "stuff" from the bed. detach tail gate. Do tech and get in line behind 50 other cars.. Man. the day was BUSY!

Motor got cold so I run the high idle and got her warmed back up in time for my first run.

2500rpm, drop clutch, 2nd gear, bog the motor a little to 1600-sh and off to the races. prefect easy shifts at 3400. The rail pressure was keeping the motor to 3700 on shifts but she snapped back down once I engaged the clutch on each shift.

13.9 at 100 with a 2.2 60 foot.

Wow, ok, right no. now to work that 60 foot down.

Turns out the 285 nitto's are much better then the 295's as far as the 60 foot department goes. I snuck a 2.0 once, missed 3rd, ran a 14.9 that was about it (imagine the clutch acting like a torque converter......)

This was smarty on 9, ez 1.

The next 6 runs I some how got in the next 4.5 hours were all 14.4's. I have no farking clue how I lost .5 and 2 mph consistently. They all seemed to be just right. and a few seemed even faster then others

I wish I had more time. I wanted to play with air pressures (running them up t 80 in all corners). And other levels.

Intake temps were over 100 pre-run and got to about 85 durning the runs. I'm sure that didn't help.

Edge hot juice only and ez one 1 I ran a 14.4, 2.4 60 some how.

Here's the deal, I can easily get 4 tires to spin a little on the street, just that the damn VHT works to well that's my .7 right there not bogging or slipping the clutch.

The time I got the 14.9 and 2.0 60 foot was right up with a 02 GT stang stock and during my fumble he got 1 car in front and I stayed on his bumper the entire run. he ran 14.5 and 95 and I ran a 14.9 at 98.

DD clutch is needed to get this manual moving in 3rd. or a 1/4 mile track with no VHT.

If it wasn't so busy I might have been able to convince them to wet my tires down so I can get a little spin.

On suggestion from a friend I ran 2wd and kicked hte PSI in the rears down to 30. She spun a little with a 1200rpm launch and I back peddled and got on it and grabbed 3rd with some authority and 3rd held on the track and I ran a 14.9 there at 100.

Bottom line, working on the launch (something totaly different then slippery pavement naturally) I'll get the truck down to 13.5. It's just a matter of DD clutch I'm sure.

And even more bottom. I just need to practice on the drag strip more consistently. This is my main lacking. And 1.5 hour trip one way isn't helping. Next year I'll be making it a point to go once a month.

Anywho. I'll end this rant and call it good and since I do have a 13.9 slip, it does make me a 13 second truck
