street racing-help

I need some help on street racing. Most of the time I'm having trouble getting traction. 4wd spins at first but slows me down to much at the top end. Tires are 235/85 Daytona Stags. 3.07 rearend and no OD. I was ****** last night when I couldn't beat my exgf's new bf's dodge v8, chiped, supercharger. He never got more than 10' ahead of me though. I felt like I was going to get thrown in the passenger seat. I'm thinking bigger tires are going to be my best bet, what do you all think? thanks, alonzo
