Duramax Smoke
Went to a test & tune Saturday night and watched a 4X4 Duramax make a few runs. Fair burnout with slicks.
First pass was 14.13, second was 13.91. On the third run, he let out before the 1000' and don't remember the time, think it was a high 14.
Two street cars then made a run. Just as they passed the finish line, we started seeing thick black smoke drifting across the track just like we have been seeing on TV from Iraq.
After they towed the Duramax back to pits I went to look at it and could see nothing outwardly wrong, the hood was not open. Driver was changing out the slicks and naturally was not talkitive, but did say motor was completely gone.
I prompted with a "Did it just run away with itself?" and he said "Yes, even though the computer looked like everything was ok."
