Truck tug-o-war

I have a question, if you were to tie hitch to hitch with another truck for a tug-0-war, would it be best to wait and let the other truck spin thier tires before you get on it or get on the go pedal right off the bat?There is a real smarta** boy around here with a new ford that i would love to drag all over the county.I just would like to do it right.I think the ford is auto while mine is a 5 speed.
