24valve in a 76 highboy f250 4x4 ?

Hi ,
This is my first post .
I have a 1976 f250 4x4 (highboy).

I also have a 1999 24valve 5.9 Cummins c/w 6 speed and transfer case .
Has anyone done this repower before .
The pre 77.5 4x4 has a narrower frame than 2 wheel drives (I think) .

Any thaughts or advice welcome .
