95 3500 2WD to 4WD

I have access to a 95 3500 2wd Flatbed, with the Solid Front axle. I wonder what it would take to convert this over to 4wd. Would it be as simple as a tranny/transfer/crossmember swap, and bolting the Dana under the front. I have yet to inspect the front end, to see how it mounts. But I would think that it might be doable?? I need some honest opinions ! Oh yeah, dont mind telling me it would be cheaper to buy a 4wd!! That is probably what I need to hear!!
