How much does a new or used B3.9 go for?

B3.9 in Suzuki Samurai?

I was wondering what the going rate is for a new and or used Cummins B3.9 4-Cyl. Also what is the most common manual tranny mated to it. Is an NV4500 possible? My reason for asking this is because i have a buddy that has a Suzuki Samurai, it has the origional engine and trans (it dosent run all that well), but he said i could have it aslong as i was willing to do a engine swap to make it reliable. Would this match be possible? If so how much fabricating would it take? I need a vehicle that will get decent milage and of course i wouldnt mind the extra power the CTD would add to my commute.

Id really appreciate any advise or suggestions.
