Decisions, Decisions 12v or P-pump conversion??

I have an 2001 24V 4X4, Auto. I have access to a 95 12 valve and a 98 12 valve wiring harness.

I have killed 4 VP-44s and I am going to make a change. I just need some expert advise on how to proceed. I thought about doing the P-pump conversion to my 24 valve but I was told it would be easier and cheaper to go with a total 12 valve conversion. What do you guys think.

I have been told that if I use the wiring harness from a 98 12v that it will connect directly to my 2001 electrontics and be a piece of cake (I hate that expression). The 12 Valve will drop right in, but the gauge ports on a 12v are SAE and the 24v are metric.

I am the kind of guy that likes detailed instructions and prints when doing this kind of thing. Or at least have a good network for advice.

I appreciate any help, advice and guidance on which route to follow.
