Nissan SD25
I am considering a conversion in a late model Nissan truck, using a SD25 diesel engine out of a forklift. The engine is near perfect, is an "all iron" engine (head and block), is of the "L" design (intake and exhaust on same side of head) and would be a GREAT candidate for a turbocharger. This engine was offered as a turbo version in Japanese market forklifts and in overseas trucks. It, along with it's older "sister" the SD22, was also offered in Nissan/Datsun trucks in the early to mid 80's. I want to repower a late model Nissan truck. Have any of yall done or heard of anyone doing this? I can probably get the turbo, fittings and manifolds through the forklift parts book for Japanese forklifts, but will need a flywheel and bellhousing. The lift is complete but the automatic transmission crapped out. Engine and accessories are all there and operational. Thanks for any help!
