Morphadite Motor Home....
Last week was auction week for me. At the auction was a very unusual motohome. It was a '98 Mountain Aire by Newmar on a Freightliner chassis. The thing that made this unit so unique and UNdesireable was it was a FRONT engine diesel. It was a 12 Cummins hooked to an Allison. I was surprised that it brought over $50K thru the ring as most of the wholesalers there said they(front engine diesels) were almost "sale proof".
The thing that stuck in the back of my mind was.................find one of those in an RV salvage yard.........say it had an interior fire. Buy the engine and trannie as a whole unit and drop in in something like an F550 Ford. What a combo that would be!
I am in search of an elusive out of date landing gear for a 5th wheel that I just got in. I think I'll ask the salvage yards while shopping if they have any front engine Cummins Motorhomes they are parting out.....hmmmmm...............................
