4BT Vs. old 6AT

My plan was to purchase a 4BT for my Dodge Power Wagon as I am not willing to modify the vehicle for a 6BT. I recently talked to someone who had a 6AT in a Dodge M37. Said he was very happy with the motor and it is much smoother than a 4BT.

I do not know much about the 6AT other than the basics and they are not that common. Any help or information on the comparison would be great.
