4BT,Insurance Buy Back?

The company I work for has a Winco generator with the 4BT in it that was totaled in a trailer jackknife. The engine appears to be undamaged. Has anyone done an insurance buy back on something like this? Do you make an offer or does the insurance set the price? I haven't had a chance to talk to our GM about it. The engine is a CPL 0793 rated at 86 HP at 1800 RPM, serial no. 44201563, is turbo charged but not intercooled. It has a Lucas inline injection pump. I forgot to look at the hour meter but it is a '87 model and hasn't seen a lot of use. I would guess less that 3,000 hours on it. I am thing of repowering a Case tractor with it. What should I pay for something like this?
