I have a 1997 Ram 2500 extended cab 4x4 diesel. My overload springs are sitting on the overload bracketts on the frame when empty providing a very rough ride. I think my springs are sprung and would like to get a new set. Where would be the best place to get good quality springs for a reasonable price. Dodge can get them for me for $550.00 each. Is that good?
Thanks, Jim:)

Tailgate Utility Lights

OK, I got a question for some of you body shop people. On the sleeper unit of my Freight Shaker, there is a utility light, hitch light, which ever you want to call it. I was thinking that would be neat on the back of my truck. Don't want to add anything under the bumper. Don't like those lights that mount to the hitch. So...why can't a person cut a hole in the tailgate, and mount the light in there? My question is, just how "hollow" is the tailgate? My truck has the "factory" plastic bedliner. The older trucks, if I remember, had a panel on them to access the latch. Is it this way on the 04.5 tailgates? I don't want to go taking stuff a part until a little more info has been gathered.

Two lights, using a 1156 back up bulb, mounted below the tailgate latch, in the middle of the tailgate, equal distance from each side. Wire a relay to the lights, switch to the relay, mount the switch in the cubby hole below the radio.

So, toss some more ideas out this way.

Thanks,

I'm getting ready for a upcoming trip, not to mention doing some 200k maintenance. Everything was going fine until Sunday night...start the truck, no FASS whine??

I have one of the newer FASS, with the internal brushes...so I was dreading the worse. But I checked the basics...the FASS wiring is top notch, all weatherproof EXCEPT for the relay socket. I found the relay contacts had corroded!

After cleaning the terminals, everything is back to normal. The one thing that sucks is the fact that if the relay disengages, the included low pressure light will not illuminate either (which is not something that is common).

Bought a batch of Fleetguards from Genos a few weeks back.

Went to change the oil and the filter cup socket fits the old Fleetguard just fine, but its too small for the new filters? Luckily I had a strap wrench.

Sign of a QC issue? If it had been another filter, I would have said different sizes of filters...but the same filter requires two different cup sizes?????

I'll probably go back to Wix after these are used up...

Gents,

My EGT gauge died on the rig a couple days ago. I am wondering if anyone has a extra they would like to sell me? I was currently running a ISSPRO gauge number R3607TR. I would like to keep it along those lines, but, if not and I could get a deal, I would be willing to make an offer. Thanks in advance,

Regards,

Years back on tdr there was a type of seat cushion that brought up in a discussion that was good for people with bad backs .
I remember it was about 100.00.
It sounded like a great product with good reviews.
I would like to get one for my aging mom.
Did a search and came up with nothing.
Does any one have one or have any recommendations

Innospec 3100 fuel treatment

Does anyone have any info on this product? Good or Bad?

This product has been introduced to us(Qwest Power Techs), by our procurement department. This is our new fuel treatment we are to use in place of Artic Express, Howes, etc.

It states it is a multifuntional home heating fuel additive, lowers pour point, cold filter plugging point, disperses wax, cleans fuel components, protects all metallic components, prevents catalytic degradation, reduces the opportunity for microbial growth, and contains a defoamer for quicker tank filling.
1 gallon per 2000 gallons of fuel. we received it in 2 1/2 gallon jugs.

Ingredients: vinyl acetate monomer 1C8-05-4 detergent, xylene 1330-20-7, ethylbenzine 100-410-4, o-xylene 95-47-6, naphthalene 91-20-3, ethylene glycol n-butyl ether 111-76-2, heavy aromatic napththa 64742-94-5, light ends of polyethylbenzene residue 178535-25-6.

I am thinking this is for large distributers, and tank farms, not something we should be trying to dilute for our 100 to 1500 gallon emergency generator tanks. It states nothing about water dispersement.

I believe I'm glad I'm done having kids, after reading the caution statement, looks to be some nasty stuff. They tried something like this before, something called Octell Steron, or close to that, seems it's use had to be documented, so that was the end of that.
