engine noise

I took delivery yesterday of my new 2004.5 3500 .What an awesome ride

.This is my first ctd so i dont know all the ins and outs of the beast.During acceleration around 1500rpm i am getting a sound like a light fuel knock kinda like a fluttering.The best i can relate it to would be like on a ford ps when the timing is advanced when it is still cold.It sounds like fuel under high pressure and then subsides after i am out of the throttle.I can here this noise completely different than the smooth engine sound when accelorating.Has anyone else heard this sound? Is it normal?What is it?
