band adjustment on 99 4spd auto trans

Confused: 1999 Ram 2500,24V cummins. Is there or is there not perodic adjustments to be made on the 4spd auto transmission. I have been told by the local dodge service manager there is none. I also called a local trans service center and they agreed. But, I have read on this site that adjustments were made and have read it in a Chilton manual. Anyone know the real answer?
