The 6.7 CTD Rumor..

Gentlemen,

I find myself at am impasse... Having been reading and researching the Cummins Powertrain for sometime, the majority of which time has been spent here in the TDR, I was sitting with pen on the signature line purchasing a new 2006 QC 2500 4x4 CTD Short Bed SLT, when I overhear a passing service tech jabbering about the 6.7L CTD. I glance over at my salesman, who has been an incredibly patient man through my Q&A and research process, and he gives me this shoulder shrugg attempting to imply complete ignorance. I lay down the pen and chase down the service tech and begin picking his brain on the 6.7l. As I suspected he didnt really have any hard evidience supporting his jaqbber other than the mythical option shown in the latest release of the parts manual. The reality of my personal situation is that I will never have any significant need for any more power than is avilable stock from the 5.9CTD and certainly never more than is avilable from the same engine with a few select mods. None the less the 6.7lCTD has capture my imagination and I find myself obsessed with it...

Does anyone out here have any firm evidence supporting the impending release of the 6.7CTD powertrain?
