03 QC standard output with 48RE?

I am a newbie about to purchase a 2003 SLT QC 4x4 shortbox (bummer) with the standard output engine(250hp)which has 45000 miles from my father in law. The manufacture date is 1/03 I was reviewing the buyers guide and I see this should have the 48RE transmission as the 235hp engine comes with the 47RE can someone confirm this? After much reading I'm nervous about the 47RE. The truck is in excellent condition with original tires and brakes and has towed only a popup camper twice a yr along with the garbage to the dump, the only issue is a dented rear bumper. I check his mileage whenever he comes in town to visit 190 mile one way and empty it always reads over 20. He wants $20000 and I'm trying to get it for $19000 does 20000 seem a little high?
