Dowel Pin in timing cover

I purchased a 96 CTD for an employee. (Which BTW is what introduced me to the joy of a cummins.)

It had about 40,000 miles on it, now has 105,000. I am wondering if we should look into this dowel pin problem or is unlikely to happen after this many miles?
