Newbie needs help--going to buy a CTD

Hello all, this is my first post on TDR. I'm going to look at a used 2001 3500 6 sp. How can I tell if this is the HO version? Any tips for evaluating the condition of the truck, in particular, the transmission? Trouble areas to look for with this model?

I know this is asking a lot, but any info is appreciated!
